Organ Recitals at Union Chapel. Print E-mail

Thursday 24 July saw the first of four monthly organ recitals at Union Chapel.

The venue is never less than magificent, and all the more so when the organ is a star of the show. She is in need of some restoration but remains a grand old Lady fully capable of the scores given her. The acoustics in this Cubitt building are astonishing.

Following the second recital in August, the next performance is on Thursday 25 September, at 6.30pm for a 7pm start, and entrance is free - but contributions to the restoration fund are always welcome.

The building itself is also in need of substantial restoration at great cost, although it is in a much healthier condition than when scheduled for demolition in the 1980s. It is a treasure that must not be left to decay again. Full details on the Union Chapel website.

Best to you all,
Andrew
