Islington Museum is now open in its new, permanent home in the same building as Finsbury Library on St John Street.
If you've not yet had a chance to visit, it is well worthwhile, with displays and exhibits as well as interactive features that will appeal to young and old alike. One of my favourite displays contains a section of the original elm pipes from Myddleton's New River. The Archives are located in the Library above, and books and postcards are also on sale. If you'd like a change during one of those rained-off days when a walk looks quite unappealing and the cricket is submerged this is a great place to spend an afternoon. Opening times are displayed on the Museum's website. |
