It was with boundless enthusiasm that I learned of the approval of the restoration of the Assembly Hall in our, yes, OUR, Town Hall.

A public space built in a public building with public money, and no longer a convenient dump for old filing cabinets.

From IA&HS, Peter Powell and I championed restoration for years as did several inside the Town Hall itself, at times there with blazing rows about it. Thank goodness it is now happening.
