Do you want to discover how to research the
history of your local area?
The Council for British Archaeology (CBA) London is looking
for volunteers to take part in a short research project starting in July 2010.
This project will look at key developments
in London’s history and examine past issues of social, economic and
environmental change that still challenge the city today.
The project will develop an event for
children, families and the local community, based on the volunteer research, to
be held as part of the Mayor of London’s Story of London Festival in October
2010.
Volunteers will receive training in
research techniques and the creation of educational materials for the Story of
London event.
All research participants are asked to
commit to the equivalent of between five and ten days volunteer time on the
project during August and September.
Reasonable travel and lunch expenses will
be covered.
