Islington Archaeology & History Society

Site of the 'Angel Inn', Islington The Society organises lectures, walks, visits and outings throughout the year.  It also arranges regular archaeological site visits for members, usually in the City. IA&HS also aims to document archaeological findings in the Islington area. It delights in offering local literary and historic walks by arrangement, from school groups to U3A members.

Union Chapel

IA&HS has a binding constitution, and holds an Annual General Meeting at which its committee members are elected. The term of office is three years, and all members of the Society are invited in the intermediate AGMs to endorse the continuation of the terms of those elected previously, and to put forward additional officers. The accounts are also open to scrutiny.

Membership is open to all those with an interest in Islington History & Archaeology. We frequently receive enquiries from as far West of us as Sacramento, and as far East of us as Sydney, often from people who have discovered that they have roots here.
